Universe Vehicle Service & Repairs opened in Alice Springs in 2024. It is still a young workshop, and the reviews say so, but 39 of them now sit at a straight five stars.
Almost every one of those reviews names the same person. Manu is the one who looks at the car, explains what he has found and tells you what it will cost. Customers describe him as knowledgeable, straight up and quick to fit people in, and more than one has arrived after another workshop could not sort the problem out.
The shop is busy enough that it has been advertising for more qualified motor mechanics to come and join it. The work is the full mechanical range: servicing, engine and gearbox repairs, electrical, suspension, aircon, alignment, balancing and tyres.

Passing through the Centre
A long way from anywhere is a bad place to be stuck
Alice Springs sits in the middle of some of the longest drives in the country, and a fair few of the reviews here come from people who were only in town for a day. One had driven up from South Australia on the way to Darwin. Another had a camper that had taken on water.
They all wrote the same thing afterwards: they were fitted in, looked after, and not charged for being in a tight spot. If you are travelling and something has started making a noise, it is worth a call before you take on the next leg.

Manu was professional, honest, and very knowledgeable. They took the time to properly diagnose the issue with my car and explained everything clearly before doing the work. The service was quick, the pricing was fair, and the quality of the repair was excellent. It's hard to find mechanics you can trust, but Manu really go above and beyond.
